Yoga

The word yoga comes from the Sanskrit word “yuj”, which means “to join’ or “to yoke”. Yoga is a practical aid based on a harmonizing system of development for the body, mind and spirit. A regular practice of yoga will lead you to a sense of peace and well-being; a feeling of being one with your surroundings and environment. And to be clear, yoga is not a religion.

Asana, the physical practice of yoga postures, helps strengthen the body, increases flexibility, improves the functioning of the respiratory, circulatory, digestive and hormonal systems, among many other physical benefits. On a mental/emotional level, yoga brings about emotional stability and clarity of mind. With this clarity of mind, we can learn to be in this world while being less reactive to it, allowing for that sense of calm and well-being.
